Meet the Top Officers of the Coalition
Founder/Chairman
Hi, my name is Rob Coco and I am a senior at the University of Scranton, where I’m earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Originally from Staten Island, New York, I am now a proud resident of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
After initially setting out to establish a Turning Point USA chapter at my university I recognized an opportunity to make a broader impact. That realization led me to create this Coalition, a resource that will serve multiple counties and support not just universities, but also individuals and organizations throughout our community.
Outside of my academic and leadership work, I’m an avid sports fan, supporting the New York Rangers, the New York Yankees, and the Philadelphia Eagles. I also enjoy playing volleyball and hockey, but truly enjoy volunteering to help coach young players in both volleyball and flag football.
Co-Chairman
Hello, my name is Carson and I am a junior at the University of Scranton. My major is Political Science, with a concentration in legal studies. I am a resident of the City of Scranton, strengthening my love for the area and passion for making a difference in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Outside of school I enjoy a multitude of sports including basketball, baseball, football and most importantly, golf. I also have a great appreciation for nature, spending majority of my time engaged in outdoor activities.
Along with the rest of my colleagues, I plan to use Turning Point Gen Z as a way to finally make my impact, bettering the community in which I love and want to see prosper.
Vice-Chair
Hi, I’m Francesco Leo from Jefferson Township, Pennsylvania. I’m currently a sophomore at Penn State Scranton, where I’m pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. On campus, I serve as President of the Turning Point USA Chapter and I’m also a cellist in the Penn State Scranton jazz band.
Outside of academics, I’m the lead guitarist, cellist, and vocalist for the local band Echo Burn. My faith and community are central to who I am—I’m an active member of Saint Eulalia’s Parish and a Third Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. I enjoy volunteering and taking on activism roles that align with my political and religious values.
When I’m not studying or performing, you can find me playing or coaching volleyball, trap shooting, shooting billiards, playing cornhole, or spending time with my family.
Social Media Coordinator
Hey, I'm Dylan Clark from Avoca, Pennsylvania. I'm currently a freshman at Wilkes University where I'm pursuing a degree in marketing. On campus I serve as President of our TP USA. Outside of college life I am an active member of the First United Methodist Church of West Pittston. As an older Gen Z member of this Coalition I also bring with me 10 years of prior military service. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter and checking out local small businesses.
Data Director
My name is George Schottmiller, and I’m a student at the University of Scranton studying Accounting and Business Analytics. I’m currently the Data Director for the Turning Point Gen Z Coalition. I care about promoting free speech and encouraging open discussion among students. I like being part of a group that values genuine dialogue and a variety of viewpoints. I stay involved on campus through many activities like the Accounting Club, Bible Study, and the University Republicans. And I keep my faith at the center of my life.
Event/Outreach Coordinator
I’m Jared Ely, a graduate student at the University of Scranton, where I studied Biology and Philosophy and now work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Chemistry. I’m also a certified EMT, passionate about bringing hands-on experience and human connection into the world of medicine. During my time at Scranton, I served as President of the Mountain Sports Club, leading outdoor adventures and building a strong campus community rooted in exploration and leadership. I’ve been deeply involved in student programs, retreats, and coaching that blend personal growth with philosophical reflection. Through Turning Point, I’m continuing that journey, finding a renewed passion for purpose, leadership, and truth while growing alongside a community that challenges and inspires me.
